"These twenty young people will assist us in distributing the condoms and we have the full confidence that the condoms will reduce sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS," a spokesman said. The group sees this program as a means of "empowering" young people, and young women in particular, to take control of their lives. In many cases, according to the spokesman, young women are forced to have unprotected sex when the male refuses to use a condom. This new program is aimed at giving women the ability to protect themselves in these situations.
