A Newborns Room
Choosing a theme that will fit your new baby’s nursery isn’t always the easiest process. If you’re not sure what the sex of the baby is you may not know what color or style you can do the room in. This is why you should try and get a neutral color that will work with either gender of baby. However if you are aware of which gender you are having you can change the theme around a bit. Really you will need things that will attract the baby’s attention; they love to look at things when they are awake. This is why it’s important to have a mobile in their crib that will help them go to sleep.
What theme you choose will probably last for quite a while, so choose carefully unless you want to have to redo the room earlier than you were hoping for. Of course as your child becomes older his tastes will change but you may be able to get away with the original look for three years. Of course there are themes that will last longer than that so if you want the theme to go on for longer choose something like numbers or even animals.
Super heroes are a great idea for a boy’s room. While a girl you can decorate up like a princess’s room or even a nice beautiful garden. Both of these themes can last for a while perhaps almost until your child gets into his teen years.
When painting the walls of the newborn’s room, it’s best to stick with a neutral color, this way it will go with almost any theme you have in the room. If you want to change it around a bit you can always add some wallpaper to the room. But sticking with nice neutral colors for paint is always a good idea.
You will want to make the themed style room one that is exciting to your child, something that can be easy to add to over the years if you need too. Put up artwork that your child has done in school as they get older, or add in a nice photo to the room.
If the carpet or the floor in the nursery room has seen better days you can always use throw rugs. Throw rugs are inexpensive, functional, and can be considered to be extremely decorative. A few rugs scattered in key places can make a worn out nursery floor look brand new. As your child gets older, a different set of throw rugs will allow you to change the look of the room without a great deal of difficulty and very little expense.
Try these ideas when you go to decorate your newborn’s nursery, you will end up saving money, and making a nice wonderful room.
