The best party of a French theme party is the dressing up. Guys; go for a black and white horizontal stripy top, onion necklace, French beret etc. Draw a thin moustache on yourself with a marker pen. Also, go a week without taking a shower prior to the party.
Girls; you can dress up hilariously the same if you wish, minus the beard and moustache of course. Or you could opt for a French maid or Marie Antoinette look.
For decorations, get plenty of red, white and blue balloons to represent the 3 colors of the French tricolor. Also get a large French flag to hang on the wall. Set up a photo area in front of the flag so your guests can have their photos taken.
Consider trying to make your venue look like a French cafe (have you seen Amalie?). Get some wooden tables and chairs and place plenty of fresh flowers around the room. Get some models of the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower.
Think about hiring a French artist or a mime artist to make your party memorable and unique.
For food, you could have plenty of hors d’oeuvres, placing them on a table and allowing your guests to help themselves. Or you could concentrate on French cheese and fine wine. Either way you should think about hiring a wine expert or a French chef!
